The POP UP FRAME – easily expands and adjusts to carry loads up to 80 lbs.

The redesigned POP UP 28 pack features the innovative, transforming frame that allows day hunters to haul out meat via the OVERLOAD™ feature. This 28L pack facilitates the minimalist hunting kit. It features Rip-Zip access to the main compartment along with zippered accessory compartments on the lid and the front. The side water bottle pockets and compression securely fit tripods and trekking poles. The unique telescoping frame goes from low profile to maximized load lifting in seconds, and the OVERLOAD® feature is ready for when the game is on the ground.

  • The POP-UP FRAME feature converts this daypack into a load-hauling system. For those shorter, successful day hunts when shouldering out the brutal weight is necessary for extraction. This function allows the frame to easily expand and adjust to carry loads up to 80 lbs. It features expandable pole stays and load shelf.
  • OVERLOAD® feature provides functional expandability via a load sling between the pack and the frame, allowing you to put the bulk of the weight closest to your back for optimal comfort.
  • The patented Futura Yoke easily micro adjusts to the torso length allowing the proper amount of stand-off between the back and frame.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Popup 28 is the ultimate day hunting pack!I bought this pack a few weeks in preparation for the hunting season in Montana. Now I'm 6'2" and 265lbs and fairly fit. My son shot his first elk opening weekend and I was able to fit 2 front quarters, back straps, and tenderloins in the pack. I hauled that load just over 2 miles back to the truck, and I felt amazing! I went right back the next morning and grabbed a hind quarter. The pack its self is the perfect size to hike for the day, I think you could even squeeze a overnighter out of it. The only issue I had is one of the buckles broke, but the warranty department was speedy in getting out some replacements. 10 out of 10 on this bag.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice bag, customer service poorThe pack does a nice job with elk quarters or weight less than 65 lbs. Quick access to the the meat shelf amd nice pocket layout. Belt is a bit undersized in the foam, but is okay if weight is under 40 lbs.I have 2 packs from MR and the customer support , or lack there of, is disappointing.I've tried emailing to get a different belt, but zero response from MR. This belt is different than the guide light and if it wasn't for Rokslide Forums, I wouldn't have known that and just bought the wrong belt.It is a good pack, but if you want great customer service consider Exo or Kifaru because they stay with you long after they get your money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice suspensionSo far I’ve put in ~40 miles on this pack. The frame and harness are stout and comfortable. The pack is laid out nicely. To bad they don’t marry up nicely. Unless the pack is pretty loaded volume-wise or you are using the overload function it can be very hard to keep the pack from shifting around on the frame while in motion. The solution seems pretty simple. There is an extra wide loop of material on the frame side of the top of the pack for hydration tube routing. If there were a plastic or composite piece that would pass through that and then snap onto the two frame tubes it would hold everything together and reduce the bag moving around independently.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Day Pack and packing quarters out!!I bought this pack three months ago to go to Alaska on a caribou hunt. This pack did it all. Very adjustable to fit height and shoulders! I shot my caribou laying my gun across the pack as the tundra was a bit thick. I put two hind quarters of a caribou on it and tightened all the straps up. The pack was solid and didn’t get loose or shake at all!! I’ve got a great video of the pack in action, but can only load pics. The only suggestion I would make would be to buy some small pouches to put on the belt straps for quick access to some items.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recommend 10/10I recently harvested a beautiful, mature six point bull elk in Utah, spot and stalk, day hunt style. This pack is perfect for that. Plenty of room for day hunt essentials, 3 liter H2O bladder, large spotting scope, and tripod attached to the outside. Luckily it was a relatively short pack out, as I was able to haul the whole elk in three trips with this pack. Although heavy, weight distribution while hauling a front and hind quarter together was excellent. Also handled the awkward head and cape easily and very secure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from By far the best pack I have ever used.I got the Pop Up 28 this summer to replace another name brand pack that I had for elk hunting that I was not happy with. The other name brand just didn’t fit or feel right. I know for a fact now that I made the right decision with the Pop Up 28 as a day pack for elk hunting. It fits, feels and carries great. Has plenty of room for extra gear, game bags, knives, ammo and lunch. I hunt with a Specialty Pistol most of the time and this pack works great for this too. I have recommend this pack to all my friends and anyone that asks me what pack to buy for a day hunt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect dayback that is multi-functional when needed.Got a pop up 28 a few month ago as i just need a good comfortable day pack. Opening morning this past weekend, i was lucky enough to get a cow elk archery hunting. Though i had help for the pack out and someone to bring frame packs for the others to use to help, I was able to load up both front quarters on this pack no problem and it did an excellent job. I would have had no problem making 3 trips if needed with this pack to get it out myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can’t go WrongI wanted a pack for carrying a treestand for whitetail hunting in Tennessee. It was between this and the Pintler. I originally set out to be more minimalist and lessen the amount of gear I took into the woods. I’m glad with my decision on this pack coming from a 37L pack. Don’t be fooled this pack can carry more than you think extra layers easily strap onto the outside with the accessory straps or can be stored in the overload self. This pack is awesome and the new upgraded pop up system is the bees knees.
